Join thousands of runners and walkers as they lace up their running shoes for the annual Run Wild for the Detroit Zoo, sponsored by Ford Motor Company, on Sunday, September 12, 2021. The event includes a 5K and a non-competitive Fun Walk. Runners of the 5K start at the Zoo’s 10 Mile Road entrance and wind through the scenic streets of Huntington Woods and cross the finish line inside the Zoo! Walkers follow a course past award-winning animal habitats as they stroll through Zoo grounds.

All participants receive a commemorative T-shirt and a collectible finisher medal upon completion of the race.

If participating in person is not your thing, you can follow the fun virtually on a path of your own!

Event takes place rain or shine. On Race Day, please plan to arrive early. 10 Mile Road will close for the 5K, so expect heavy traffic.
