Details:

Downriver’s LARGEST New Year’s Eve celebration happens at Biddle & Maple, next to the Wyandotte Clock Tower! SPONGE with special guest WALLY PALMAR from THE ROMANTICS will be ringing in the New Year! Wally Palmar is an American musician, singer, song writer and frontman for THE ROMANTICS, a Detroit based 80s rock band that achieved popularity in the US and around the world on the strength of the band’s well-crafted pop songs and high energy shows as well as noted for their look; black vinyl to red leather suits. Their two best-chart toppers are “What I Like About You”, and “Talking in Your Sleep”. Wally will rock the stage with another great Detroit native alternative rock band, SPONGE. The band gained widespread notoriety with their debut album “Rotting Piñata”. Their hits are still played on mainstream rock stations around the country including “Plowed”, “Molly” (16 Candles Down the Drain) “Wax Ecstatic” and “Have You Seen Mary”. Both Detroit based bands will ring in the New Year at the Rockin’ NYE Ball Drop! Plus, live performances from Sara Sherrard and Eva Under Fire.

The event’s main attraction is the one of kind New Year’s Eve ball. The 1,000 lb. steel ball glows with color-changing LED lights and is powered by DTE Energy Foundation. The evening will culminate with a Time Square style ball drop at 9 p.m. for families and again at the stroke of midnight as we ring in 2019

The Community Choice Credit Union heated tent will include FREE kids activities like face painting, crafts, photo booth and games.

Rockin’ NYE will also have food trucks, indoor and outdoor bars with craft cocktails, beer, wine, champagne and hot beverages.
