Reading and Rhythm On The Riverfront
Friday, August 21 @ 10:00 am - 12:15 pm
An event every week that begins at 10:00am on Thursday and Friday, repeating until August 28, 2020
Reading & Rhythm on the Riverfront (R3) is the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy’s unique, interactive early literacy program that provides children from southeast Michigan an opportunity to see live children’s entertainment, hear a story read by a storyteller or local community leader and receive a free book.
This year Reading and Rhythm on the Riverfront will take place at Gabriel Richard Park, a large riverfront oasis, which allows families and children to physically distance. Instead of the usual tented close quartered space, the music and storytelling portion of the program will take place live and be projected on an outdoor screen and the celebrity reader portion will be prerecorded. Please bring your own masks and hand sanitizer.
Two sessions: 10am & 11:30am. Each session last approximately 45 minutes. Participants must participate in the session to receive a free book and carousel ride.
Pre-registration is required and opens one week prior to event time.
