The free Beaumont Health Through Literacy™ Program will take place in Heritage Park from 10 to 11 a.m. on June 23, July 7, July 21, and August 11. Children ages 3 to 12 are welcome with an adult. Each session will take place outdoors and participants will meet at the picnic gathering area in front of the Farmington Hills Nature Center.
Health Through Literacy™ was developed to help caregivers and students in Pre-K through Early Elementary learn basic nutrition and physical activity messages through quality children’s literature. Children and their grown-ups will both enjoy reading time that focuses on language arts and reinforcing basic nutrition messages in interesting and engaging ways
Beaumont’s program uses Health Through Literacy™ to deliver reading sessions for children and their grown-ups.
AmeriCorps members and community volunteers organize readings using Our Health Through Literacy™ Classroom Book Sets designed for Pre-K through Early Elementary. In addition to the guided Storytime, Americorps leaders will also offer crafts, games, and hands-on activities as part of the FREE literacy sessions.
No need to register, just show up!
