“As you may have heard, in final preparation for the planning of the 62nd Annual Detroit St. Patrick’s Parade, the parade leadership team, in conjunction with Governor Whitmer’s and Mayor Duggan’s teams met and we agreed it was best to cancel this year’s parade,” Mike Kelly, Co-chair, Detroit St. Patrick’s Parade said in a statement.
Find your seat on the original brick road of Michigan Avenue (between 6th and 14th street) to watch the color guard units, floats, novelty groups and marching bands for the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Stop off begins at 1pm and the parade lasts for approximately 2 hours.
The parade is free, but you can purchase advanced tickets for the Family Fun Zone. Tickets cost $12 per person or $60 for a family of 6 for access to grand stand seating, parking, inflatables, special performances and appearances by Tigers and Lions mascots, Paws and Roary. The family zone is open from 11:30am to 3:30pm.
