As we celebrate HUG’s day 9th year, this year will be an extra special year due to the covid ordinance in the city being lifted. This FREE event will be held all over Metro Detroit this year.

This year’s Hug Detroit Day will begin with a walk hosted by Holice Wood dedicated to our risen angel Terry Thunder Hugley called the Thunder Stroll. The festivities will continue throughout the day with city wide block parties being celebrated all over Metro Detroit featuring plenty of free activities, live entertainment, talent showcases, art exhibits, drink and food specials, activities for children, dance parties and most of all, our annual backpack, book, can and school supplies drive.

The importance of this day is to promote community.  Trying to get back to the days of hugs and handshakes after over a year apart.
