The Detroit Riverfront’s West Riverfront is well underway and this month they broke ground on another new addition  – the Southwest Greenway.

The Detroit Riverfront Conservancy latest project, the Southwest Greenway, is now underway on the West Riverfront. The future greenway is nearly a mile long, spanning from Bagley to Jefferson Avenue, connecting the Detroit Riverfront’s future Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Centennial Park with the Michigan Central mobility innovation district and neighborhoods throughout Southwest Detroit, Mexicantown and Corktown.

The $8 million investment will be completed this fall and provide families a new place to walk, stroll and bike in Detroit. The Southwest Greenway is a key part of the 27.5 mile Joe Louis Greenway in Detroit.
