Daily Inspiration Guide for Those at Home with Kids: Teeth Edition

Each day, join LittleGuide on a themed adventure full of activities, crafts, nature and games that will help you and your littles have fun at home.
Today we’ll send the kids back to school – dental school. Dental health is important to your body’s overall health and we all want to be healthy. Our friends at Delta Dental helped us come up with fun activities for you to do at home with your kids.
8:00 AM – Introduce the kids to a brushing and reading chart that they can use to track daily their habits.
9:00 AM – Help your kids understand the importance of brushing your teeth and visiting the dentist with these helpful videos.
10:00 AM – Read the story of Roger the Red Robot and have fun with basic math (you can use your fingers) to figure out Roger’s Flossing Codes.
11:00 AM – Science time! Try an Egg-citing Experiment to show kids how to brush their teeth and then let them get a little messy and have fun with floss.
12:00 PM – Talk about healthy foods with your kids (here’s a helpful guide) and let them use that knowledge to pick out what they want for lunch.
1:00 PM – Quiet Time – Print off this healthy food sheet for kids to color or arrange healthy foods in a bowl to draw/paint a still life picture (search the DIA online collection for inspiration).
2:00 PM – Watch The Tooth Fairy with The Rock on Amazon Prime.
4:00 PM – Make liquid chalk and use a toothbrush to paint smiley faces and fun messages for your neighbors.
5:00 PM – While you prepare dinner, let the kids play with Colgate’s My Bright Smile app to see what a dentist office is like, practice brushing their teeth and learn about healthy snacks through games and interactive activities.
6: 00 PM – Show off those pearly whites and smile wide. Take a family photo on your porch to remember this unique time in our lives.
7:00 PM – Count everyone’s teeth before or after brushing and see who has the most. Find a book in your home library about going to a dentist and read before bed.
8:00 PM – Bedtime! You survived.
We know that times are hard and resources can be scarce. Please note that these activities are simply meant to be a guide to help you fill the day and inspire ideas that fit your family. Try all of the activities, just a couple, or simply watch a movie and cuddle on couch – whatever makes your family feel happy and safe during times of uncertainty is the best thing to do.
