Each day, join LittleGuide on a themed adventure full of activities, crafts, nature and games that will help you and your littles have fun at home. We grew up watching Reading Rainbow and now Levar Burton is reading again – this time on Twitter. Brighten up your days with storybook magic.

8:00 AM – If you give a kid a (breakfast) cookie – what happens next?

9:00 AM –  Spread joy around your neighborhood and leave rainbows on the sidewalk.

10:00 AM – Sign up for the Skybrary and learn to read with interactive books.

11:00 AM – Write a story about your family (fiction or non-fiction), illustrate it and mail it to grandparents.

12:00 PM – Tune into Twitter and watch #LeVarBurtonReads

1:00 PM – Quiet Time – Relax and listen to Peace Out, a podcast featuring short stories that help children calm down and relax by guiding them through visualization and breathing exercises.

2:00 PM Make a simple craft inspired by your favorite storybook.

3:00 PM – Watch your favorite storybook brought to the big screen (here’s a list of movie ideas)

5:00 PM –  #EatTheRainbow. Challenge your kids to see how many colors they can eat at dinner.

6: 00 PM – Take a family field trip with LeVar Burton as he shares a video adventure on the Skybrary.

7:00 PM – Read your favorite books before bed.

8:00 PM – Bedtime! You survived.

We know that times are hard and resources can be scarce. Please note that these activities are simply meant to be a guide to help you fill the day and inspire ideas that fit your family. Try all of the activities, just a couple, or simply watch a movie and cuddle on couch – whatever makes your family feel happy and safe during times of uncertainty is the best thing to do.
