Daily Inspiration Guide for Those Home with Kids: Family Retreat

Happy young mixed race couple spending time with their daughter having fun

Each day, join LittleGuide on a themed adventure full of activities, crafts, nature and games that will help you and your littles have fun at home. Let’s disconnect for the day and enjoy some quality time together.

8:00 AM – It’s family day. Everyone pick one activity they’d like to today.

9:00 AM – Start a happiness jar. Each day write down something that made you smile, put it in the jar and once a week/month or on a bad day pull out the notes to remember the good times.

10:00 AM – Get out the house and on a nature trail. Spend time together outside without distraction – bring a bike, ball, kite or simply take a walk together outside.

12:00 PM – Have a picnic outside.

1:00 PM – Quiet time – Start a puzzle.

2:00 PM – Every one pick your favorite songs and come up with the ultimate dance party playlist.

3:00 PM – Create a family handshake.

4:00 PM – Make a meal your parent or grandparent made for you as a kid and have the kids help you in the kitchen.

5:00 PM – Family dinner. Here are some good conversation starters.

6: 00 PM – Play a board game.

7:00 PM – Make a fire outside or cuddle up inside, and share your favorite family memories.

8:00 PM – Bedtime! You survived.

We know that times are hard and resources can be scarce. Please note that these activities are simply meant to be a guide to help you fill the day and inspire ideas that fit your family. Try all of the activities, just a couple, or simply watch a movie and cuddle on couch – whatever makes your family feel happy and safe during times of uncertainty is the best thing to do.
