In efforts to slow the spread of the Coronavirus, events are being cancelled and venues are closing or limiting activity all throughout the Metro Detroit area. Here at LittleGuide, we will do our best to keep you informed on what is happening (and not happening) around town.
UPDATE: In the past 24 hours we have seen our community come together to help protect public health and implement the social distancing strategy advocated by public health officials. As a result virtually all events in March have been cancelled or postponed AND venues (museums, libraries, recreation centers and private businesses) are closing their doors. Most expect to reopen when school is back in session on April 6th.

- CANCELLED – St. Patrick’s Day Parade (Royal Oak): Saturday, March 14th
- CANCELLED – St. Patrick’s Day Parade (Pickney): Saturday, March 14th
- CANCELLED – St. Patrick’s Day Party (Detroit): Saturday, March 14th
- CANCELLED – St. Patrick’s Day Parade (Corktown, Detroit): Sunday, March 15th

- CANCELLED – Dance Theatre of Harlem (Detroit): Sunday, March 15th

- POSTPONED – Dinosaur Adventure (Detroit): The April event is cancelled and will be rescheduled for fall
- POSTPONED – Opening Day (Detroit): Opening Day delayed at least 2 weeks
- POSTPONED – Monster Jam (Detroit): Tickets for the Saturday, March 14th event will be honored on July 25th and tickets for Sunday, March 15th will be honored on July 26th.
- SUSPENDED – Team USA Hockey (Plymouth): All upcoming game play has been suspended until further notice
VENUES
- Baldwin Public Library (Birmingham): The library remains open but all programs are cancelled in March.
- Belle Isle Aquarium + Conservatory (Detroit): Closed March 13th – 15th
- Belle Isle Nature Center (Detroit): Closed through the the end of April.
- Cranbrook Science Museum (Bloomfield Hills): Closed thru April 5th
- Cranbrook House (Bloomfield Hills): Closed thru April 5th
- Cranbrook Art Museum (Bloomfield Hills): Closed thru April 6th
- Detroit Historical Museum (Detroit): Closed and will reopen the week of April 6th
- Detroit Riverfront (Detroit): The children’s playscape at Cullen Plaza and the shed at Valade Park are closed for the time being.
- Detroit Zoo (Royal Oak): Will remain open but all public programming scheduled for March has been cancelled.
- Detroit Institute of Arts (Detroit): The museum is closed till April 5th, all public programming is cancelled until April 13th.
- Dinosaur Hill Nature Preserve (Rochester): Building closed to public for the rest of the month. Trails still open to public.
- Dossin Great Lakes Museum (Detroit): Closed and will reopen the week of April 6th
- Ford House (Grosse Pointe): Closed indefinitely and Bunny Fun is cancelled.
- The Henry Ford (Dearborn): General admission and programs have been postponed or cancelled thru March 18th.
- Livonia Public Library + Recreation Center: Closed to the public through April 5th
- Huron-Clinton Metroparks: The parks are open to the public but all programming has been cancelled and interpretive centers/nature center are closed to the public through April 5th.
- Macomb Center (Clinton Township): Scheduled events have been cancelled including Frozen Jr. at the end of March and the Underwater Bubble Show in April
- MSU Tollgate Farm (Novi): The farm remains open for walking but all programs have been cancelled thru April 6th.
- Maybury Farm (Northville): Closed until April 7th
- Royal Oak Public Library (Royal Oak): The library remains open but all programs are cancelled in March.
- Troy Community Center + Public Library: Closed to the public through April 5th
- U of M Museum of Natural History (Ann Arbor): The museum remains open but all public events and tours have been cancelled.
- West Bloomfield Recreation Center: Closed until April 6th.
