During quarantine, the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy and other community partners, including the City of Detroit, teamed up with illustrators from 313 Creative to produce a free coloring book celebrating some of Detroit’s most popular parks to provide kids with creative activities to do while they stay at home.

Every Tuesday from April 14 through May 26, two new images were released and available to download, print and color on the Detroit Riverfont website. Now they are all available as a singular coloring book AND you can download free activity pages too. Kids are encouraged to share their masterpieces by tagging the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy on social media using #ColoringDetroitParks.

“Detroit has amazing parks,” said Mark Wallace, president & CEO of the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy. “These parks bring us together to exercise, find peace by interacting with nature, and gather as a community. While our children are staying home to stay safe, this coloring book will allow them to express their creativity and to celebrate what these spaces mean to them.”

While public facilities and playground equipment are closed, you can still visit the parks featured in the booklet for outdoor family time (just be sure to stay 6 feet away from others). Featured locations you can visit include:

The Detroit Parks Coloring Book has been developed in partnership with the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy, the Belle Isle Conservancy, the Downtown Detroit Partnership (DDP), Eastern Market and the City of Detroit.
