If you’re looking for a universally accessible splash pad that allows for all kids to play, head to Clinton Township in Macomb County

The Clinton Township Splash Pad is fun for EVERYONE! The township recently shared that it now has a waterproof wheelchair that guests can use during their visit for no cost. The flat surface splash pad with multiple water features and dump bucket, can now be enjoyed by even more kids during the summer months. While the kids play at the splash pad, parents can relax on benches in shaded areas in the enclosed space.

The Clinton Township Splash Pad is open daily from 11am to 7pm from Memorial Day to Labor Day. A seasonal membership is required for check in. Membership is free to Clinton Township residents and $30 per household for others.

The splash pad is located just south of the Clinton-Macomb Library and you will want to stop by while you are there.  The Clinton-Macomb library has the most amazing Children’s Department and is a LittleGuide Detroit favorite. When you enter the Children’s Department you are greeted by Thomas the Train who runs on an overhead track when you push a button. The entire section is designed as a play land and you can ride a firetruck, bus, airplane, train, boat and horse drawn wagon! There’s a theatre for puppet shows and blocks, Legos and other STEAM toys available for imaginative play. With creative displays it’s easy to pick out a new book (or 10) and get immersed in the story with your imagination literally running wild with your surroundings. Looking for tech time? There’s a dedicated tablet area with kid friendly games for those who want to play.
