The Leslie Science and Nature Center’s new $250,00 Natural Playscape is well underway and kids can now play on one of the planned climbing structures.

Leslie Science and Nature Center is one of our favorite places to explore. Visit with animals at outside habitats and inside the Critter House (open on select occassions), explore the natural trails and check out the new Nature Playscap – all for FREE! The new outdoor playspace is made of natural components such as plants, logs, water, sand, mud, boulders, hills and trees. Fundraising efforts for the $250,000 project remain underway and will eventually include a water feature, build area and additional climbing space to inspire kids to experience physics, engineering and states of matter in a hands-on way. Currently kids can climb the log structure, slide down the tube slide and walk through the boulder hideaway.

The Leslie Science & Nature Center is located on a public park and all outdoor public areas, including the hiking trails + raptor enclosure loop, are open from dawn to dusk.
