The Festival of Lights (also known as Hanukkah, Chanukah or Hannukkah) is right around the corner. Although it doesn’t start till December 22, there are many events that start before then! From Hanukkah parties to Menorah lightings, this list is sure to be a helpful guide to make sure you enjoy 8 “not too crazy” nights!
Family Chanukah @ Congregation Shaarey Zedek (Southfield)

Join the CSZ Religious School as they present ‘The Magic of Hannukah’. A fun and educational celebration that will have singing, a magic show, jelly donuts (Suffganiyot) and latkes!

This two day Chanukah event is sure to be wonderful and fun for the whole family with tot town, crafts, dreidel bounce and a menorah parade!

Kick off Hanukah in downtown Detroit! This 9th annual event starts at 4:30 with entertainment (like face painting, marshmallow roasting pit, a snack bar and more) and refreshments followed by the lighting of the menorah, where there will be live music and a fire show!

Head to Royal Oak and join its first menorah lighting ceremony downtown. There will be a carving demonstration, kids activity zone, donut bar and fireworks show!
