Get into the spirit of fall at Beacon Park in October with two unique festive events.

Watch your favorite Halloween movie like never before – Beacon Park will host a Shadow Cast performance of Hocus Pocus on October 7th and 8th at 7pm. The Ibis Theater will transport audiences to Salem on All Hallows Eve, where they will meet the infamous Sanderson Sisters and their brooding band of characters. A shadow cast is an ensemble of artists that act out the movie while it is playing; often times dancing and singing live. They also serve as the catalysts for the audience cues to participate in callbacks and use their props. This is a FREE family-friendly event and guests are encouraged to dress in their favorite Hocus Pocus or Halloween costume.

Cider In The City returns on Saturdays and Sundays October 15th to 23rd from 1pm to 5pm. Families can enjoy seasonal activities including crafts and face painting, horse-drawn hayrides around downtown Detroit, live music, and picking out the perfect pumpkin.

You will also find sweet treats from Blake Farms – cider, donuts, apples and pumpkins – you can buy during your visit or place your order in advance.
