Beacon Park Hosts FREE Weekly Events For Families

Have fun downtown and plan a weekend trip to Beacon Park for FREE family activities this summer.

 

Beacon Park celebrates its 5th anniversary and Detroit’s 321st birthday on Sunday, July 24th with a line-up of family fun from 1pm to 5pm. Stop by to enjoy live music, a bounce house, birthday treats, crafts station for kids, lawn games, food trucks, and more!

 

If you can’t make it out on the 24th, stop by any Sunday this summer for Family Days. Each week the park hosts FREE family activities with different themes.

  • July 17: Puppets and Crafts
    Live Puppet Performances, Themed Crafts, Lawn Games
  • July 24: 3-2-1 Happy Birthday Detroit
    Bubbles, Desserts, Detroit Themed Games, & Crafts
  • July 31: Stretch and Move
    Variety of Exercise, Dance Demo’s, Tumbline & Fun
  • August 7:  Toy Stories
    Oversize Toys & Games, Inflatables, Story Tellers, Crafts
  • August 14: Puppets and Crafts
    Live Puppet Performances, Themed Crafts, Lawn Games
  • August 21: Stretch and Move
    Variety of Exercise, Dance Demo’s, Tumbline & Fun
  • August 28: Back to School Bash
    Water Inflatables, Back-pack Design, Book Giveaway, Games & Crafts

 

Other FREE park activities include weekday City Glow Yoga, Baby + Me Yoga, and Saturday Night Markets.

 

Beacon Park is open to the public, there are public restrooms and street parking is easy to find.
