Meet Rachel

Hi there! My name is Rachael Hendzell and I’m a mom to two sweet boys, Henry (2) and Noah (3 months)! My husband Nick and I have been married for 3 years and love to spend time with family, watch a good movie, and travel! I am a Speech Language Pathologist at a local elementary school and own my own private practice, Super Sweet Speech. I also have a podcast, Let’s Taco Bout Speech podcast, with one of my best friends Claire Barbao. As part of my private practice, I run a series of language and social skills groups for children and their families with my friend and business partner Carie Vella, called Play and Say! We host classes at local venues including Stemville in Northville and the PARC in Plymouth. We help guide parents and children through a series of social play activities while providing strategies to promote social interaction, play skills, and overall language development!

Best Park/Playground: Kiwanis Park (Plymouth)

We love checking out as many new and local playgrounds as we can. This past summer we fell in love with the small and hidden, Kiwanis Plymouth Park. Henry loves the interactive animal sounds board.  

Best Family-Friendly Annual Event: Plymouth Fall Festival

We love the Plymouth Fall Fest! There is a TON for everyone to do, and amazing food including their Rotary Club Annual Chicken BBQ!

Your Mom Must-Have: Slumberpod

One of our MAJOR go-to’s is a Slumberpod! It is the perfect solution to make sleeping easier when we are on the go and traveling, especially when room sharing!

Best Fall Destination or Event: Cider Mills 

We LOVE cider and donuts, so the cider mill is a must!  We love Three Cedars Farm, Plymouth Orchards, and Franklin Cider Mill!

“Pat Yourself on the Back” Accomplishment: Motherhood + My Business

The biggest accomplishment outside of being a mom would be owning two small businesses! I love connecting with such a wide variety of professionals with the overall goal of helping children succeed
