Get out the house and head downtown this winter. From family-friendly shows to museum activities and outdoor fun, there’s lots to do in Detroit!
The event we’re most excited for this month is Tiny Tots at the Detroit Symphony Orchestra! Our littles love music and we can’t wait to Jazz, Wiggle and Giggle at 10am on February 15th. Kids 6 and older will enjoy celebrating Musical Heroes at 11am with music from Harry Potter, Star Wars, Batman and more. All families are invited to participate in crafts and visit the instrument petting zoo.
Get cozy in a heated tent at Beacon Park and watch your kids favorites on the big screen for FREE every Saturday afternoon.
Belle Isle is a great place to visit during the winter months and Shiver On The River brings even more FREE fun to one of our favorite places. From children’s games to rescue demonstrations by the Coast Guard and more.
Head to the DIA all month long to celebrate black culture. Discover the works of African and African American artists and attend special story hours, puppet shows and crafts. Admission to the DIA is free for residents of Wayne, Oakland and Macomb county residents.
Quicken Loans annual winter festival is back and it’s FREE! Go ice skating on The Rink or skiing on the bunny hill, see the sculptures in the Ice Garden, hop on the zipline or rush down the slide, and more!
Mickey and Friends are taking their Road Trip Adventure to Little Caesars Arena to bring some magic on ice. Bring your littles downtown to see their favorite princesses, toys and animals from the Pride Land skate and sing on ice.
Fat Tuesday is February 25th and we’re counting down to Paczki Day! Take a trip to Hamtramck for a ‘giant donut’ and stop by the Fowling Warehouse to throw a football at bowling pins – haven’t tried it before? It’s fun!
Get a golden ticket to a childhood classic. Ronald Dahl’s timeless novel is live on stage at the Michigan Opera Theatre. Make the trip to the city more fun – stop by Rockys in Eastern Market and let your littles indulge their sweet tooth.
