The Detroit Zoo is one of our favorite places to visit and if you’re missing it as much as we are, here are some ways to get your Vitamin Z at home.
Check In On The Animals
Say hi to the penguins, otters, falcon, snow monkeys and wolves via the Detroit Zoo live cam. Did you know the penguins can roam the zoo? Watch a video of Pickles the Penguin taking a stroll through the park.
Take A Virtual Tour
Get an up-close look and learn more about the Red Pandas, Devereaux Tiger Forest, Bear Den and Butterfly Garden (with a bonus reading of our very favorite caterpillar story)
Sit Down For Story time
Listen to Detroit Zoological Society staff and caretakers read stories about animals and nature. Winky and Wanda (an elephant story), What Do They Do with All That Poo, BEE, The Nutty Little Vulture, and Big Tracks, Little Tracks. You can also join storyteller and education specialist David Gakure for a special Wildlife Adventure Story.
Hands-On Fun From Home
Experience Online Learning
Watch video lessons featuring Detroit Zoo educators and your favorite animals and try the learning exercises at home as a family.
Show your support for the Zoo and start making plans for when you can see the animals in person by getting a family membership. A family membership is $115 for two adults and up to 4 children under 18 (two visits and you’ve got your money’s worth).
