The Detroit Institute of Arts is one of our favorite places to visit and if you’re missing it as much as we are, here are some ways to experience art at home.

Explore the DIA’s Collection

Much of the massive, 60,000+ piece collection of the DIA is available online to browse and learn from home. Download the museum’s activity sheets to help jump-start conversation with your kids and spark their creativity.

Watch Detroit Film Theatre Family Films for FREE at Home

In this latest installment of recommendations from the New York Children’s International Film Festival, you can watch Germany’s Beyond the Visible: Hilma af Klint and Chile’s The Cordilera of Dreams.

Try A Family Art Project At Home

The DIA’s drop-in art studio is offering art-making project ideas available online. Try Stabiles, Mosaics or a Neighborhood Collage and learn about the original works of art it’s inspired by.

#RecreateDIA

After you have admired the museum’s art collection, recreate your favorite artwork using objects in your home, and share your creativity with us @littleguidedetroit!  #MuseumFromHome
