Birthday’s are big deals for kids and the current quarantine can be especially hard because they can’t have a party with friends. If you’re looking for creative ways to celebrate with friends, families and heroes, here are some ideas.

A Call From A Famous Friend

Queen Elsa, Spider-Man, Mal and more are ready to make your littles day! Arrange a special voicemail or 10 minute video chat with Laurel’s Princess Party

Special Delivery From Heroes in Blue

The Rochester Police Department and the Rochester Fire Department are delivering birthday cheer to the children of Rochester. If their birthday is in April a police car and/or a fire truck will drive by your house and briefly turn on the lights and siren, before dropping off a birthday goodie bag on your front porch as well. If you don’t live in Rochester, reach out to your local station and see if they would be willing to do the same.

A Birthday Parade

Pull out the lawn chairs and get ready for a parade like no other. Ask friends and family to decorate their cars and drive by the house, to call out well wishes, play favorite songs and bring the party to the streets.

Paint with a Twist

Hop on Zoom (currently available to the public for free 40 minute sessions). Invite friends get out their art supplies, watch a birthday kid selected how-to-draw video from Art for Kids Hub on YouTube and reveal each other’s work.

Plan a Netflix Party

Grab popcorn, candy and favorite beverage and plop on the couch for a birthday movie night. Invite friends to watch a movie together via Netflix Party and chat while you watch.
