Exciting news! The Cranbrook Educational Community reopens to the public this month. Start planning your trip to Bloomfield Hills. …
Livonia is my home town and my favorite place to explore. Visit the best family pool, check out fun book bundles, picnic at a historical park and enjoy sweet treats this summer.
Soak Up The Sun @ Botsford + Clement Circle Pools
Have fun in the sun at Botsford or Clement Circle pools. Both are open with limited capacity for the summer. Pre-register for a 3 hour slot ($9 per person or sign up for a pool pass). Clement Circle is our personal favorite and features a zero-entry pool with splash pad features and a brand new playground (free and open to public) in the park.
Summer Read With the Livonia Public Library
It’s time for summer reading and even though we can’t visit the library like usual, we can still have fun! The Livonia Library has online summer reading challenges, virtual events AND book bundles for all ages. Select a book bundle online (you pick the theme – dragons, mermaids, diversity and more), place your order (if your library is part of the TLN network you can check out a bundle – see list of libraries here) and pick up the bag with curbside delivery.
Read your books in the outdoor Butterfly Garden and do the storywalk located behind the Civic Center Library.
Visit Greenmead Historical Park
Bring a Frisbee and lunch for a picture-perfect picnic at Greenmead Historical Park. The95-acre public park was the 1820s homestead of Michigan pioneer, Joshua Simmons. It includes the original farm complex, Historical Village, and nature trail. Admission is free and it is fun to explore.
Outdoor Concerts + Drive-In Movie Nights
The Livonia Recreation Center is hosting outside family concerts in July with The Music Lady and Miss Paula and the Candy Bandits. The outdoor movie tradition continues but this time you can ‘Park-It’ and watch Toy Story 4 or The Lion King from your car.
Barn Market + Sweet Treats
The Saturday Barn Market at Wilson’s Barn begins on July 11th. Find some healthy delicious produce, then indulge in some sweet treats at Coffee + Cream, Ritter’s Frozen Custard or Milkster Nitrogen Creamery.
