Los Trompos @ Beacon Park (April 27 – May 23)

Los Trompos (Spanish for ‘spinning tops’) is back at Beacon Park this spring. The collection of three-dimensional, larger-than-life “spinning tops” are so much fun for kids and adults to place on – also a great backdrop for pictures. The park is open to the public and street parking is easy to find.

 

Flower Days @ Eastern Market (May 4 -25)

Take a day trip downtown on a Tuesday and earn ‘Plant Lady’ status by picking out a selection of flowers, plants and trees for your garden at home.

 

Detroit Grand Prix @ Belle Isle (June 11-13)

Calling all racing fans, the Grand Prix is back! Watch the cars of the NTT INDYCAR SERIES race in the Chevrolet Dual in Detroit doubleheader, the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and the Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires Series on the Raceway at Belle Isle for a one weekend only event.

 

Ford Fireworks @ Detroit Riverfront (June 28)

Celebrate summer in the best way at the best place with the Ford Firework display downtown.

 

Beyond Van Gogh @ TCF Center (June 28 -August 15)

The international sensation and immersive art experience of  Van Gogh is coming to Detroit. Become park of his sunny landscapes, night scenes, his portraits and still life paintings. Popular installations includes the Mangeurs de pommes de terre (The Potato Eaters, 1885), the Nuit étoilée (Starry Night, 1889), Les Tournesols (Sunflowers, 1888), and La Chambre à coucher (The Bedroom, 1889). Motor City Car Crawl @ Campaus Martius (August 5-8)

Look out for a new city-wide event this summer. The Motor City Car Crawl will be a walkable, city-wide festival to showcase new vehicles at displays in six downtown parks. Visitors can enjoy family entertainment and food trucks while they attend the car crawl. More details to come.
