5 FREE Kid-Friendly New Year’s Eve Events In Metro Detroit

We ❤️ FREE (especially after all the holiday shopping)! Ring in the New Year with the littles at these family-friendly events happening around town.
@ Beacon Park, Detroit – 1pm to 6pm
Watch the Ball and balloons drop before bedtime! The New Year’s Eve Kids Countdown will offer all the fun and excitement similar to Beacon Park’s wildly popular Family Fun Days, this event will offer a wide range of activities and crafts for all ages including, a make and take station, indoor and outdoor games and a sparkling juice station.
@ Detroit Historical Museum – 10am to 1pm
Preschool and elementary-aged children and their families can make their own noisemaker, write a time capsule letter, enjoy cookies and hot cocoa, and most importantly, ring in the New Year with a countdown to noon! Admission to the museum and the event is free, although parking fees may apply.
@ Downtown Southgate – 11am to 1pm
Join us for this popular kids event at Market Center Park featuring crafts, music, juice toast at 12pm, and a balloon drop.
@ Detroit City Fieldhouse – 2pm to 5pm
Spend some time at the Clubhouse this NYE! From 2-5pm, we’re hosting a Ball Drop for kids and families! Drink specials for parents, field access and kids meals for your little ones! “Ball Drop” is at 4pm.
NEW YEAR’S EVE IN NEVER NEVER LAND
@ Downtown Mount Clemens – 4pm to 9pm
Never Never Land, is a family fun event. some of the fun in store will include, petting zoo, train rides, magic shows,pirates an a ball drop with fireworks.
@ Downtown Wyandotte – 6pm to 9pm
Downriver’s LARGEST New Year’s Eve celebration happens at Biddle & Maple, next to the Wyandotte Clock Tower! The event’s main attraction is the one of kind New Year’s Eve ball. The evening will culminate with a Time Square style ball drop at 9 p.m. for families and again at the stroke of midnight as we ring in 2019. The Community Choice Credit Union heated tent will include FREE kids activities like face painting, crafts, photo booth and games.
