National Library Week is April 19 – 25 and while we’d normally celebrate by visiting one of our favorite libraries, this year we have to get creative. Here are some fun idea for ways to celebrate libraries at home:

Visit Your Library (Online)

Library buildings aren’t open but resources are still available online. Visit your local library’s website to download ebooks and access hundreds of FREE educational resources from books and movies to music and podcasts.

Plan a Virtual Storytime with Friends

Storytime at the library is not only a time to learn, it’s a time to meet-up with friends. Set up a virtual meeting with a few friends and have each parent read a popular book in your house.

Get Creative With A Classic

Make your favorite stories come alive with a crafts:

Catalog Your Home Library

It’s time for spring cleaning and the perfect excuse to organize your books at home – and read them too! Fiction books are ordered by the author’s last name. Non-fiction books are cataloged with the Dewey Decimal system – read about it and give it a try at home.
