If a change of scenery and location is what you’re family is looking for – but not too far away – we suggest making a day trip to Howell, Michigan for treats, parks, and treehouse fun!

Plan a day trip and take in the fresh fall at some of the coolest playgrounds around, then treat yourself with a can’t-miss sweet treat.

Howell Nature Center

The Howell Nature Center is one of our favorite places to visit animals, take a nature walk and let the children run around the playground – the treehouse forts and canopy walks are pretty cool for parents and kids alike! Be sure to check out the latest addition to the Nature Center – a new mini ropes course, Sky Tykes, designed for pint-sized adventurers. The cost is $5 per child and pre-registration is required. The new attraction opens Sunday, April 2nd. As always, bigger kids (ages 5 and up) can reach new heights on the High Adventure Course that features zip line, climbing tower, high ropes course, and giant swing.

Howell Summit Gardens

The children’s playground in downtown Howell is adorable and lots of fun! A mini maze, colorful tents and curving slides offer whimsical amusement for little ones. Let them run around until the train comes and then let them sit by and watch in delight as the train runs through town and across the tracks.

M Street Bakery

Everyone LOVES M Street Bakery for it’s delicious desserts and MASSSIVE milkshakes. It’s truly the only excuse we ever need to make a trip to Howell.
