This spring the Detroit Parks & Recreation Department kicks-off a brand new Youth Soccer League! Registration is open now through March 27th and it’s a great opportunity to introduce your kids to sports at a great price – only $20! Here are 3 reasons to sign your littles up for youth sports.

Build Character

Youth sports help kids learn the value of practicing to perfect skills, working together as a team and consistently playing a game whether they win or lose.

Fitness and Exercise

Physical activity strengthens bones, builds muscle, helps boost endorphins (that make people happier) and it’s hard work that encourages better sleep habits.

Learn The Game

Soccer is the most popular sport in the world and having knowledge about the game gives kids an opportunity to develop a connection with people from different places. It’s also fun to learn something new!

Detroit’s New Youth Soccer League will allow kids ages 4 to 9 years old to learn how to play soccer. For only $20 players will participate in a 7 week soccer league, receive a uniform (jersey, shorts and socks) and shin guards. Detroit residents can also get transportation for Game Day!  Every Detroit Recreation Center will host their own teams in each of two divisions. Practices will be held at the Recreation Centers and games will be played at Romanowski (Southwest & West), Adams Butzel (Northwest & Central) or Chandler Park (Eastside).

Registration is only $20 and the registration deadline is Friday, March 27th. Sign up today or learn more about the program visit here.
