We love FREE! The YMCA is hosting two events that are open to the public on Friday. There’s a Back To School Bash at Boll Family Y in downtown Detroit (5:30pm to 7pm) and a Family Pool Party at the Downriver Family Y (5pm to 7pm).

Hold on to summer and make a splash at Turtle Cove Aquatic Center! And make sure you check out the out of this world $1.3 million playground also at Lower Huron Metropark.

Keep your eye on the sky and watch fireworks Friday night for Warren’s Birthday Bash. The carnival and festivities are taking place Thursday through Saturday.

Blake Farm’s new South Lyon location is open and to celebrate they’re hosting a Welcome Weekend with FREE cider and donuts!

And if you’re ready to jump into fall, Parmenter Cider Mill in Northville opens for the season on Saturday!

Stop by Belle Isle to visit the new octopus at the Aquarium and maybe check out the now infamous Giant Slide!
