President’s Day is Monday, February 17th, so if you have the day off with the kids – here’s how to make the most of it!

PRESIDENT’S DAY @ ESCAPE
Costs: $4-$20
Escape opens at 9 AM for food, fun, bowling, laser tag and arcade.

PRESIDENT’S DAY @ CRANBROOK INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE
Costs: $0 – $13
Get your family out of the house and into the Institute on President’s day. We will be open 10:00am – 5:00pm and can’t wait to see you!

CELEBRATE BLACK HISTORY MONTH @ CHARLES H WRIGHT MUSEUM
Costs: $0- $10
Come explore and celebrate the African American history and culture at the Charles H Wright Museum. With special exhibitions following the journey of African Americans through history, along with their children specific exhibit, A is for Africa, featuring 26 interactive stations, it’s a great stop for kids of all ages.

NATIONAL ENGINEERS WEEK @ HENRY FORD MUSEUM
Cost: $0 – $23
Discover historic inventors and past challenges like powering industries and designing homes, then try your hand at today’s engineering trials in Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation. Pop the hood on vehicle design, engineering and manufacturing at the Ford Rouge Factory Tour, and check-out Dream Big in the Giant Screen Experience to see the many ways engineers make an impact on the world today.

VISIT THE ANIMALS @ DETROIT ZOO
Costs: $0 – $19
Here’s a secret – our favorite time to visit the zoo is in the winter. Even though it’s a little chilly outside, the animals are still out (or even be IN and easier to see) and it’s not as crowded as the summer months.

ANN ARBOR HANDS ON MUSEUM
Costs: $0 -$12.50
Make a day of it in Ann Arbor and go where the children can play, explore and get a little wet (bring a change of clothes)! With their preschool gallery (for 4 and under) to their nature center, there’s something for all kids.

COMBO EXPERIENCE @ LEGOLAND & SEA LIFE AQUARIUM
Costs: $28-$30
Let your littles play in Duplo Farm, while the older ones build and test racers, or take in a family film at the 4D Cinema. For all of the lego lovers out there, this is where you go! If you’ve got more in you, make your next stop Sea Life Aquarium, both located in the Great Lakes Crossing Outlets mall.

HAVE FUN INSIDE – VISIT A PLAY CAFE
Sit back and relax with a coffee while the kids race, slide and climb at a play cafe.

PLAY OUTSIDE
Bundle up and enjoy the fresh air at an outdoor ice rink!

VISIT YOUR LOCAL LIBRARY
What’s better than free, educational and fun for the whole family? Your local libraries are jammed packed with amazing books, events and opportunities to engage the littlest ones to the bigger ones! Some libraries are closed for the holiday but here are a few events happening…
